Healthcare Science Technology is for serious students interested in a career in the medical field. HCST I introduces the team member to Medical Terminology and Basic Healthcare Skills, HCST II offers team members an opportunity to Explore Careers in Medicine by Job Shadowing with a Healthcare Professional in Coweta County and preparation of a Professional Portfolio. Students have the opportunity to continue to a West Georgia Technical class and do hands on patient care. Central Educational Center has a MCC – Medical Careers Club a student organization allows students to join both Georgia Skills USA and HOSA-student organizations. HCST team members have many opportunities to gain Community Service Hours by supporting Health Screenings, American Red Cross Blood Drives, Scrubby Bear Programs, Special Olympics and DFCS Projects.
