ABOUT ME

As I've said, my name is Jim Cromwell, I teach economics at the Central Educational Center. I am married and I have two sons and two grandchildren. My hobby is golf but taking care of my two boxers is as time consuming.  My wife is a LPGA professional who now teaches the game for a living. I am also a golf coach at Northgate High School.
But enough about my personal life; my professional career began in the USAF where I taught computer circuit design.  After a couple of tours of duty teaching,I went on to college and earned my B.S. in Business.  My business career then began.  I have many years of experience in all aspect of business management having worked with a southern California computer company, a photovoltaic manufacturer, an international trade company, a publishing company, business consulting, and now teaching.  During this time I completed my MBA, received my teaching certificate, my educational leadership add-on, and now I teach economics.
I began teaching at Evans Middle School, teaching 7th grade math and found that I should have started teaching years earlier.  For someone who is as goal oriented as I am, teaching offers me a new challenge every day and I enjoy that.  My teaching style is regimented (the military influence) but I bring to my class real world experiences and in conjunction with the use of some good technology in the classroom, we immerse ourselves in the lessons and reality.

I look forward to my classes, the interaction with my students, and the transfer of theoretical and practical experiences that will better prepare the student for what awaits them as they leave high school and begin the next phase in their life.
