Intro to metals is the beginning metal working class here at CEC. Students start with basic drafting to learn some of the international language terms of the work shop floor. At the same time, students are learning how to set up and opperate the cutting torch safely. In the metals portion of the course the students will move through stick, mig and a little tig welding. They will learn when to use each type of welding and which electrode should be used. Students will also have some contact with metal casting, soldering and brazing with the basics of plasma cutting.
